Becoming a private pilot is one of the biggest accomplishments in aviation. Being a private pilot gives you the ability to explore the whole country. You can also take passengers which means you can fly with your friends and family.
Requirements
Read, speak, and write English
Proof of US Citizenship
Pass FAA medical exam
At least 16 years old to solo
At least 17 years old to become a Private Pilot
Flight Experience Requirement
40 hours of flight time
20 hours of flight instruction
3 hours of night training
10 night takeoffs and landing
1 night cross country
3 hours of instrument training
10 hours of solo flight
5 hours of cross country
150 nautical mile flight with 3 full stops at 3 different airports
3 takeoffs and landings at an airport with an operating control tower
Pass FAA knowledge test
