The very first step in becoming a pilot is a discovery flight. A discovery flight is a quick flight where you will get to experience what it's like to be a pilot. You will do a majority of the flying once in the air, with an instructor there to help and teach you how to fly. The discovery flight will also include a ground portion where you will learn about the aircraft and safety for the lesson.
